Import logos/graphics from any program
CGenie utilizes the simple, yet powerful Targa (.tga) format for images. Create your logo in another program, like Photoshop, add an alpha channel, and export it as a Targa file. We even include a step-by-step tutorial to make it as easy as possible! CGenie easily imports these preformatted Targa files, and your logo can be on the air in seconds!
Using preformatted text styles, users can quickly apply graphic effects to their text with a single click. CGenie comes standard with dozens of styles, and new ones can easily be created.

Text Substitution
One of the most useful features of CGenie is its ability to control variable information via text substitution.Using the Text Substitution sub-menu (shown right), users can insert variable information such as current time/date, countdown/up timers, variable numbers such as sports scores, variable text information, and much more. While in the text substitution sub-menu, all the same features and options can be applied to the substitution placeholder as any other piece of text. This allows the substitution to blend in with the rest of the page.

Lower Thirds can be updated in seconds.

One fantastic application for this feature is the ability to create templates with text replacement. A common use for this template is having a substitution placeholder in a lower third for name and position. With this template, the CG operator can create lower thirds on the fly if there is a last-minute change to the broadcast (or if the program involves audience participation).

On the left, the video has been overlaid with a simple lower third with text replacement. All the CG operator needs to do is replace the "John Smith" and the "Head Honcho" placeholders with the subject's actual name and position, and the lower third will automatically update. This feature allows the CG operator to only need one lower third for the entire program, and will be able to change it at will.

Create Animations
Another great feature is the ability to animate the created page. Title creator can have up to 1,000 separate layers on EACH page, and these layers can be independently controlled in the animation.
Using the Test FX menu in Title Creator, users can place the page on a timeline and manipulate the separate layers via keyframes.
Using these keyframes, the layers can be moved and transformed in two-dimensional space to make text or logos fly across the screen, zoom in and out, or fly in from one side of the screen and disappear off the other.
This animation feature is a great method for creating animated, flying lower thirds, for example.
Create animations with keyframes!

CGenie Snyper
CGenie Snyper is a simple to use, standalone application that gives CGenie users the ability to control animation sequences. CGenie uses the versatile and powerful Targa (.tga) format for both animations and still images. This allows for multi-purpose animations and images with alpha channels built in.
One huge advantage this gives CGenie users over other character generators is that CGenie can display 3D graphics and animation without the need to render the 3D graphics!
Simply use your favorite animation program (we recommend Adobe software) to create the animation and export it as a Targa sequence. Considerably less memory and processing performance is required this way, devoting more power to CGenie!
A Snype is a partial screen or full screen animation that can be played at any time during a program. The Snyper can simultaneously playback two Snypes (Foreground and Background) in addition to whatever the main graphic layer may be going doing. Snypes can be displayed independently of anything else that CGenie is currently doing, whether it's performing a Credit Roll or displaying a Static title. It's almost like having two CG's that you can use simultaneously without paying for the extra hardware!

CGenie Banner Crawl
Yes, CGenie can display a Banner Crawl as a substitution element in a page, but what if you have a page on air already? What if you have an emergency message to crawl during a broadcast?
With CGenie Banner Crawl, users have the ability to run a crawl independent of anything else CGenie might be doing. Plus, with the built-in fader, the crawl can have its own transition effect!
This versatile and powerful addition to CGenie can be used for emergency announcements, stock tickers, news banners, sports scores, or anything else one might need a scrolling text banner for!
The banner can be placed anywhere on the screen, and can be just text of any color, or can have a color banner bar, like the one above, in any color.

CGenie Timer

Timer is a CGenie feature that can be infinitely useful to high schools, colleges, sports leagues, local TV stations, and more. It controls the timer text substitution, can perform countdowns/-ups, and display the timer in increments from days to a tenth of a second. Furthermore, the timer controls can be operated via a keyboard hotkey shortcut that makes timer operation almost second nature. Timer operates independently of CGenie, similar to Banner Crawl and Snyper. This allows the user to operate CGenie on an automatic sequence, yet still maintain manual control of the timer position.

Scoreboards, like the one to the left, can easily be created using text substitutions for the timer and scores, then making the scoreboard itself with a series of background color boxes. The colors on the scoreboard are even matched to the home team's uniforms!

This scoreboard was created in three minutes.
