Mobile Studios selects FOR-A HVS-500HS "Hanabi" switcher for new HD PRODUCTION Flypack

BOCA RATON, FL, November 13, 2006  –   Mobile Studios, developers of innovative fly pack systems, have selected  FOR-A’s HVS-500HS HANABI 1 M/E HD switcher, as the heart of the company’s newest mobile production console. The MS7HD is a portable, live production system capable of multi-camera shooting, targeted for use by corporations, houses of worship, universities, sporting event producers, government video producers, and independent production companies. It is the latest addition to Mobile Studios' line of portable production consoles used by organizations such as Boeing, Dow Chemical, NASA, Cendant Corporation, and the U.S. Navy.

The HVS-500HS is an economical, compact and self-contained switcher that accepts analog and digital HD and SD formats –with no external conversion required. One of the major innovations of the HVS-500HS HANABI is its variety of input/output interfaces including SD-SDI, HD-SDI, Analog Component SD and Analog Component HD.  It can also connect to HDV cameras or PCs using component video break-out cables. The switcher is multi-format in HD for 1080/60i, 50i, 24p, 720/60p, and is switchable from NTSC to PAL.

“This is a very flexible switcher with the ability to change inputs and outputs simply by changing boards,” said Rich Rubin, president and CEO, Mobile Studios. “We’re thrilled at the price point and capabilities of this value-packed HD switcher and pleased to include it in our new portable system for live HD production. We’re also looking to the HDV market, and the HVS-500HS satisfies that need as well.”

Because of the growing number of producers shooting in HD for live or other multi-camera shoots, Rubin believes there are many markets where the company’s new fly pack is well suited. “This video production console has the same power as larger HD studios but with portability and a much lower price tag,” continued Rubin. “And more broadcasters are using the HD/SDI format for inputting PC sources. The HVS-500HS is the first lower cost, multi-format SD/HD switcher with both SD component and HD component input. It has all the functions videographers need.” Rubin said that he was also drawn to FOR-A based upon the company’s history of providing high-quality frame synchronizers and switchers to the broadcast industry.

Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, Mobile Studios designs and delivers integrated, portable  production systems for SD and HD live production to the broadcast and production industry, houses of worship, corporations and educational institutions . Every Mobile Studios system is built within the company’s unique heavy duty fly pack console (Patent Pending), providing “roll-in roll-out” convenience and shock mounting for worry-free equipment transport.
